FARMINGTON CENTERThe Farmington Fire station, is located in the center of Farmington, in the historic Village. Its district runs roughly from the Avon townline to the north, Plainville townline to the south, the farmington river to the west, Farmington Ave and Colt Hwy to the east. The district is made up of mostly residential homes, but also is home to the Miss Porters School, several historic muesums, and centuries old homes and buildings. The apparatus stationed here are Engine Co. 4 and Engine Co. 6, Ladder Co. 1, Squad 14 and Medic 12 a BLS fly car. Engine Co. 4 is a rescue-engine which contain Hurst extrication equipment, and standard engine co. tools. Engine Co. 6 carries standard engine co. tools and is first out engine company for structual related runs. Ladder Co. 1 is the only ladder company in town, and Squad 14 is the town's lone brush fire unit. Two firefighters are assigned here Monday - Friday, 7am-5pm.
